In the high-pressure, fast-paced world of modern work, people repeat the same tasks day after day, operating like finely tuned machines while gradually losing their capacity to feel, interact and communicate. The work begins with this familiar reality and examines the invisible yet deeply embedded social rules that shape our lives: What makes us who we are? And what teaches us to remain silent? The work takes as its starting point a Taiwanese saying traditionally addressed to children: “You have ears, but no mouth”—an instruction to listen and obey rather than speak. From there, it explores structures of power within the family, education and the workplace. Unspoken emotions, failed attempts at communication and suppressed individuality are transformed into physical language, inviting audiences to reconsider what it truly means to understand and communicate with one another. Throw, catch, toss, spin, juggling becomes another way of speaking. Through fluid and rhythmic circus movement, the performers transform emotions that cannot be put into words into games and challenges, expressing a refusal to simply conform. When the drums begin, the game is on, inviting each of us to rediscover the part of ourselves that once found joy in the process and had the courage to speak up.
