In 2023, Creative Expo Taiwan placed the performing arts at the heart of its curatorial programme for the first time. In collaboration with FOCASA, a giant big top rose in the centre of Taipei. Its striking red-and-white exterior stood in vivid contrast to the concrete cityscape, inviting crowds to step inside for an unforgettable journey into another world. Beyond the curtain, audiences encountered FOCASA’s vision of “new circus”, a contemporary form that breaks away from conventional ideas of circus and brings new creative energy to the art form.
