When Lin Hwai-min, a master of contemporary dance in Taiwan, joined forces with beloved picture-book artist Jimmy Liao and the boundary-pushing physical artistry of FOCASA Circus, One to One Hundred was born. Last year, the production sold out more than 40 performances across Taiwan, drawing over 80,000 children and parents. This March, it travelled to the 54th Hong Kong Arts Festival, where all five performances played to full houses. As its 2026 Taiwan tour is about to begin, we speak with director Lin Hwai-min and FOCASA Artistic Director and Circus Director Chen Kuan-Ting about how this cross-disciplinary collaboration came together, the challenges they encountered, and the moments that moved them along the way.
