Asia’s largest circus arts festival, the FOCASA Circus Arts Festival, returns for its second edition from October 3 to 12 on the lawn beside the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center light rail station. Under this year’s theme, “Circus Seafarer’s Village,” with key visual design by Yeh Chung-Yi, the festival brings together three giant big tops and 101 performances across 12 world-class circus productions. Highlights include Lin Hwai-min × Jimmy Liao’s One to One Hundred, British company Revel Puck Circus’s The Wing Scuffle Spectacular, and Australia’s Dummies Corp with Trash Test Dummies. Beyond ticketed performances, the free outdoor festival grounds feature more than 50 food and market stalls, a carousel, aerial circus experiences, a harbour-side bar and DJ parties, offering audiences of all ages many different ways to experience the world of circus.
